OHANA PROJECT

This project was all about my family, my ohana. I had multiple ideas on what it would look like or what exactly I would draw. My whole family line is full of cowboys and bar singers so I come from a long line of musicians. When I was younger I remember being surrounded by nothing but good music and jokes that would have us laughing for hours on end. The ukulele represents all of my relatives that would gather around after eating good food and singing a couple songs. I drew the flowers and the tree, specifically the plumeria tree and flowers to represent the house that I grew up in. I remember raking up hundreds of those sweet smelling leaves and have the milk on my hands for the rest of the day. I found that this project was above all the easiest because of the new techniques that came along with the watercolors. I mostly used the Dry Brush and the Glazing technique. It worked out for the most part but I feel like I could've made certain parts of the ukulele darker and added some more highlighted parts. The last two photos are the two art pieces that helped me to learn more about how to use watercolors.
